Mysticism is a journey into the heart of God. The Presence of light filling our heart and mind is what we truly want. And when we realize this, for real, then forgiveness becomes more of a ‘letting things slide off’ experience, rather than a struggle to let go. It is when we stop holding on to any aspect of a situation as we we perceive it, that the struggle is no more.

Although this is a journey Home into Who we are, it is experienced as a journey into the unknown. Isn’t that wild! Who we are not is a self-concept that includes my 'self' and everyone / everything in my world as I am perceiving it. And to the extent that we keep maintaining this 'self' by believing in a thought system involving fear or division of any kind, we are blocking the light from our awareness. In other words, every situation in need of forgiveness is my mind, my ‘self’!

To have our mind filled with light is to have it empty of everything else. Which makes perfect sense… but wow… to keep letting go of ‘everything else’ feels like such a deep walk of trust. The belief in separation and fear of Love (of losing everything to this light - of being completely dependent on this light) runs deep, and gets triggered in so many different ways - although we don’t always recognize it for what it is.

We have to keep releasing the past to recognize our brother’s innocence and remember our true Identity as Spirit in this moment. This is our mission until loving thoughts are all that is left. A healed mind is one that knows only gratitude, fully aware that all things work/worked together for good. When this is known, the journey is seen to be exactly what was called for, for the full release of identification with that which I am not.

There is a doorway to freedom. It swings wide open and the light pours through as we turn our focus away from anything else within the ‘room of enclosed perception’ that we have boxed ourself into through false interpretations and beliefs. We can simply walk out!

What is being overcome with every seeming leap we take is the belief in separation; the belief that if I take this step there will be loss - that loss, abandonment, betrayal is possible.

The journey from littleness to magnitude is one of walking the path Given us to walk. We can’t walk another’s path, or wait to be told what ours is. Our heart shuts down if we delay, and it reopens immediately when we take the leap and move in the Given direction.

What if the leap is simply to turn our attention? To change our mind? It can be as simple as this. At other times there are leaps that involve changes in form that simply have to be taken… to be shown that it is not what we thought… it is for joy!

In deep gratitude and appreciation for every step taken on this journey - as we approach brick walls, and walk through veils.

Deep breaths...

With Love,

What is a mystic? One who desires nothing from the world because they know where the Source of all happiness, love and contentment is found.

A mystic will tell you that there are no shortcuts on the journey of transformation. Mysticism is a pathway through the darkness to the light–it is one of exposing the ego, of raising the unconscious into conscious awareness so it can be released/forgiven. Healing is total. A mystic will speak of devotion, the strength of mind, and single-pointed desire that are required to overcome the ego entirely. It is not a journey for the faint of heart, as mysticism is allowing the self concept to fall away entirely.

A mystic has found an inner contentment, a peaceful joy that is deeply attractive, fulfilling, and total, and therefore has no goals within the world. The thought of reaching for, or 'leaving' for a goal in the world is unthinkable. There is nothing else!

A mystic does not have a goal to change the world, knowing full well that the world is a reflection of an internal condition. Knowing spiritual reality to be Truth, and the world of form to be illusory, mystics are fully aware of the eternal nature of our Being. And yet, a mystic is in touch with their particular Calling, and obediently follows the Guidance that moves them to continue to inspire and bless, and remind those they meet that they are loved by their Creator.

Although their Calling may be the same, the lives of mystics appears to be very different. Radiance of Truth does not require spoken or written words, the Presence of God can just as easily be communicated through Silence. Some may appear to live a quiet, simple life, and others may be called to speak of, and from the Heart of God to the masses. Regardless, being a mystic is a full-time occupation and is anything but idle.

A mystic has no interest in a career, including a spiritual career, because a mystic has laid aside all (personal) self interest. Therefore, developing or maintaining a self concept or position within the world is unthinkable to them – laughable in fact! If asked how a mystic would feel if their body were to be laid aside this day, one would most likely respond with a smile - with heart-felt gratitude and appreciation for the fulfillment they have found, and the awareness of completion of this Life's Work.

It was to realize God.

With Love, Kirsten (2016)

There are many pathways to mysticism, and for each of us, it is highly individualized. And yet, at the core of every path the 'curriculum' is the same. It is universal, because there is one mind awakening to Truth. The awakening involves being released from what is untrue, in order to know Truth, letting go of who we are not, to know our true Self. A Course In Miracles (ACIM) is one very direct spiritual path that leads to mysticism.

The journey is over when God is fully realized, and identification with Christ / as Spirit is fulfilled. The Course describes the awakening as "...a journey without distance to a goal that has never changed" and this makes perfect sense when you realize that the journey is one of releasing egoic identification in order to have the Truth of one's Identity flood back into awareness.

The Course describes this final 'step' as "God takes the final step". Which means that all egoic preoccupation and desires have been released from the mind, so that awareness of God is all there is.

Mysticism is awareness of oneness. Therefore the pathway to this awareness is one of forgiving / releasing the belief in duality. ACIM is an uncompromising non-dual pathway, clearly stating, "If there is pain there is no God. If there is God there is no pain".

There is non-acceptance of any identification with ego as being truth. Pain is a misperception, meaning that to experience pain means the ego is believed in and identified with. In heaven there is no pain. Spirit does not experience pain. And as you are Spirit, pain is not your reality.

The Course is a path of radical self-inquiry to empty the mind of everything. Absolutely every belief is to be questioned, using forgiveness - the one helpful tool / belief that serves this purpose. The Course even states: "Belief in God is unnecessary... because God can be but known."

The journey into the experience of God is one of giving up all defenses against it, including the intellectual mind, or the 'i-know' mind. To think 'you' personally know and have control over a situation (including our spiritual journey!) is arrogance, and will block awareness of Spirit's perfection, gentleness and joy from our awareness.

Here are a few ACIM Lessons that invite us into the direct experience of oneness

Lesson 129 - Beyond this world there is a world I want.

...close your eyes upon the world you see, and in the silent darkness watch the lights that are not of this world light one by one, until where one begins another ends loses all meaning as they blend in one.

(Read the whole lesson here)

LESSON 189 - I feel the love of God within me now. ...Simply do this: Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what God is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you hold about yourself. Empty your mind of everything it thinks is either true or false, or good or bad, of every thought it judges worthy, and all the ideas of which it is ashamed. Hold onto nothing. Do not bring with you one thought the past has taught, nor one belief you ever learned before from anything. Forget this world, forget this course, and come with wholly empty hands unto your God. (Read the whole lesson here)

LESSON 208

...The peace of God is shining in me now.

I will be still, and let the earth be still along with me. And in that stillness we will find the peace of God. It is within my heart, which witnesses to God Himself.

I am not a body. I am free.

For I am still as God created me.

LESSON 209 ...I feel the Love of God within me now. The Love of God is what created me. The Love of God is everything I am. The Love of God proclaimed me as His Son. The Love of God within me sets me free.

I am not a body. I am free.

For I am still as God created me.

In deep gratitude for the Gift of this awareness, Kirsten See more on mysticism here: www.kirstenbuxton.org/mysticism
